The 1935 ten-cent piece struck at the Denver Mint offers a beautiful window into early twentieth-century American coinage. Minted in 90.0 percent silver with a precious metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this coin belongs to the celebrated Mercury Dime series. In Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail and luster that left the coining presses decades ago. Created by sculptor Adolph Weinman, the obverse design features a youthful profile of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap. This distinctive headwear often led the public to mistake the figure for the Roman messenger god, Mercury, giving the series its popular nickname. Alongside the portrait, the traditional motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the 1935 date are clearly visible. The reverse of the coin presents a powerful combination of symbols: a fasces, representing strength and unity, entwined with an olive branch to signify peace. The Latin phrase "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed alongside the denomination, which is rendered as "ONE DIME".
