Struck at the Denver Mint in 1935, this ten-cent silver coin is a remarkable example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original engraving just as it appeared when it first left the minting press. The obverse features a youthful representation of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, a design choice by Adolph Weinman that was frequently mistaken by the public for the Roman god Mercury. Accompanying this portrait are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year of issue, "1935". On the reverse side, the design displays a traditional fasces, which is a bound bundle of wooden rods surrounding an axe with its blade extending outward. This symbol is paired alongside an olive branch, representing both strength and peace. The reverse also features the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the "D" mint mark, indicating its origin from the Denver facility.
