In 1935, the Denver Mint struck a run of 10,477,000 silver dimes, a release that represents a classic era of American coinage. This particular ten-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0723 troy ounces of the precious metal. It survives today in an exceptional state of preservation, graded Mint State 66 (MS-66), which highlights its sharp details and original luster that have remained intact for decades. The obverse of the coin features the iconic portrait of Liberty wearing a winged cap, a design that captured the public imagination and earned the series its popular "Mercury" moniker. Accompanying this central figure is the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date of production, 1935. On the reverse, the coin displays the traditional fasces wrapped in an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. The inscriptions read "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DIME," alongside the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." A small "D" mint mark is placed on the reverse, identifying Denver as the origin of this beautifully preserved silver issue.
