1935-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar AU

The 1935 half dollar from the Denver Mint represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver with over one third of an ounce of precious metal, this piece showcases one of the nation's most celebrated numismatic designs. Its physical presence and high level of preservation offer a window into mid-century American craftsmanship. On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted in mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches. This side bears the date 1935 and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse presents a powerful eagle perched upon a mountain crag, wings slightly spread as if preparing for flight. Legible inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination, HALF DOLLAR. Created by the artist Adolph Weinman, the Walking Liberty series remains a high point of American design. This particular specimen, preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, retains much of its original detail and luster, allowing observers to appreciate the fine textures of Liberty's drapery and the eagle's feathers just as they emerged from the Denver press.
