The 1935 ten-cent piece, commonly known as the Mercury Dime, is a classic example of twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90% fine silver, this particular coin contains approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of precious metal. Minted in Philadelphia, it carries no mint mark, which was the standard practice for the facility at the time. On the obverse, the design presents a youthful portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, a symbol intended to represent freedom of thought. This side also features the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" alongside the 1935 date. The reverse displays a fasces, a bundle of rods bound around an axe, entwined with an olive branch to symbolize both strength and peace. The Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is also clearly visible on this side. This specific coin has been certified in Mint State 66 (MS-66), indicating an exceptional state of preservation with original luster and minimal surface marks.
