The 1935 Walking Liberty half dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this fifty-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This specimen survives in a circulated condition ranging from Very Good to Very Fine, showing the honest wear of a coin that once moved through daily American commerce. Designed by the celebrated sculptor Adolph Weinman, the obverse of the coin presents a powerful image of Lady Liberty. She is depicted walking gracefully toward a rising sun, her figure draped in the American flag while she cradles branches of laurel and oak in her arm. The legend "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed in the field behind her, with the year 1935 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, Weinman created a bold, naturalistic depiction of an American eagle. The bird is shown perched firmly upon a mountain crag, its wings slightly unfolded. The reverse also bears the mint mark, indicating its origin at the San Francisco facility, alongside the traditional national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR."
