The 1936 Mercury dime struck at the Denver Mint stands as a brilliant example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Minted in 90 percent silver with a precious metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece is highly regarded for its artistic merit. The coin is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, allowing its original luster and fine details to remain sharp and clear. On the obverse, the design features a youthful representation of Liberty wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with wings. This striking imagery, designed by Adolph Weinman, led to the popular nickname of the series, though it actually represents freedom of thought. Surrounding the portrait are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date "1936". The reverse side presents a powerful combination of symbols, showing a fasces bound with an olive branch.
