0.3575 troy oz .900 1936 Almost Unc

The 1936-D Walking Liberty half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in Denver from 90 percent silver, this fifty-cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It is highly regarded by observers for its striking artistic detail, preserved here in an Almost Uncirculated state. On the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty strides gracefully toward a rising sun, her form draped in the American flag while she cradles a bundle of oak and olive branches. This side bears the date 1936 and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse displays a powerful eagle perched atop a mountain crag, wings partially spread as if preparing to launch into the sky. Surrounding this central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination HALF DOLLAR. This enduring design was created by the sculptor Adolph Weinman.
