In 1936, the Denver Mint produced a half dollar that remains a high point of American coinage design. Struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal content of 0.3575 troy ounces, this fifty-cent piece showcases the artistry of designer Adolph Weinman. The coin represents a classic era of United States currency, combining elegant symbolism with precious metal. The obverse side presents a graceful image of Lady Liberty moving toward the rising sun, her figure draped in the American flag while she cradles a bundle of oak and pine branches. This side also bears the inscription of the year 1936 along with the words "IN GOD WE TRUST".
