Struck in 90 percent silver at the San Francisco Mint, this 1936 half dollar represents a high point in United States coinage design. The obverse showcases Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She cradles a bundle of branches in her arm, symbolizing strength and peace, while her cloak billows behind her. Inscribed with the year 1936 and the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," this side of the coin is celebrated for its fluid, artistic motion.
