Struck at the Denver Mint, this 1937 silver half dollar belongs to the Arkansas Centennial series, a commemorative issue marking one hundred years since Arkansas joined the Union. With a limited original mintage of just 5,505 pieces, this coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3617 troy ounces of the precious metal. It remains in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving the intricate details of its dual-artist creation. The obverse of the coin presents a compelling visual narrative through the overlapping profiles of an Indigenous chief from 1836 and an American girl from 1935, representing the passage of a century. The Denver mint mark, a small letter D, is located on this side, positioned just to the right of the date. This side was designed by Edward Everett Burr, with the physical models prepared by Emily Bates. On the reverse, a powerful eagle stands in the foreground with the Arkansas state flag draped behind it. The design is accompanied by the inscriptions "United States of America" and the face value, "Half Dollar".
