This particular specimen is certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64), preserving the fine details of its celebrated, rugged artwork just as it emerged from the coining press during the pre-war era. On the obverse, the profile of a Native American chieftain faces right, a powerful portrait created by sculptor James Earle Fraser. The word LIBERTY is inscribed along the upper right edge, with the year 1937 and the designer's initial F positioned clearly below the portrait. The reverse side displays a massive American bison standing atop a raised mound of earth.
