0.3575 troy oz .900 1937 Very Good/Very Fine

In 1937, the Denver Mint produced a fifty-cent piece that remains celebrated for its artistic merit. Struck in 90% silver, this half dollar contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents a classic era of United States coinage, showcasing intricate designs on both sides of the coin. The obverse side displays Lady Liberty draped in the American flag, moving gracefully toward a rising sun. In her arms, she cradles a bundle of pine and oak branches, symbolizing civil and military strength. The inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "1937" are clearly visible on this face. On the reverse, a powerful eagle is shown perched upon a high mountain crag, its wings partially spread as if preparing for flight. A small sapling grows from the rock, representing renewal. This side also features the Denver mint mark "D" alongside the traditional national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR."
