The 1937 ten-cent piece stands as a beautiful example of American coinage from the era between the world wars. Minted in Philadelphia, this coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. It is preserved in Extra Fine condition, allowing observers to appreciate the fine details of its artistry and engraving. On the obverse, the design features a youthful profile of Liberty. She wears a winged Phrygian cap, an image that historically led the public to mistake her for the Roman messenger god Mercury, giving the series its popular nickname. The legend "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed alongside the 1937 date. The reverse of the coin presents a powerful combination of symbols. A bundle of rods bound around an ax, known as a fasces, represents strength and unity, while an entwined olive branch symbolizes a desire for peace. The inscriptions on this side include the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the denomination "ONE DIME."
