The 1937 Walking Liberty half dollar stands as a remarkable example of United States silver coinage, struck at the San Francisco Mint during the late 1930s. Composed of 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.3575 troy ounces, this fifty-cent piece showcases some of the most celebrated imagery in American numismatic history. On the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty is depicted in stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. This side of the coin bears the inscription of the year 1937 alongside the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse presents a powerful image of an eagle perched upon a rugged stone outcrop, wings slightly raised as if preparing to launch into flight. The classic American motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is visible, alongside the denomination HALF DOLLAR.
