The 1939 half dollar struck at the Denver Mint showcases one of the most celebrated designs in United States coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the fine details of its mid twentieth century craftsmanship. On the obverse, Adolph Weinman's design depicts Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward the horizon. She walks toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm, symbolizing strength and progress. The reverse features a powerful eagle perched on a mountain crag, wings slightly unfolded as if preparing to take flight from its rocky outpost.
