During the mid-century era, the United States minted one of its most celebrated silver coins. Struck between 1940 and 1947, this fifty-cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver. Each specimen has been certified in high-grade Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, preserving the intricate details of its original production at either the Philadelphia, Denver, or San Francisco mints. The coin features the iconic artwork of Adolph A. Weinman. On the obverse, a graceful figure of Lady Liberty strides toward a rising sun, cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. This design is widely admired for its sense of movement and optimism. The reverse displays a powerful eagle perched upon a rugged stone, wings partially spread as if preparing for flight.
