Struck during a pivotal moment in the mid-twentieth century, this 1941 ten-cent piece is a classic example of United States coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Because this specimen is in Good or better condition, the outer rim may exhibit some gentle wear from its time in circulation, yet the core elements of its beautiful artwork remain clear. The obverse side presents a youthful depiction of Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, a design element that frequently led the public to mistake her for the Roman messenger god, Mercury. Surrounding this central figure is the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" along with the 1941 date of manufacture. On the reverse, the imagery shifts to a fasces, which is closely bound with an olive branch, symbolizing both readiness and a desire for peace.
