1945-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar AU
Struck in 90 percent silver at the Denver Mint, this 1945 half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and is preserved in About Uncirculated condition, capturing the fine details of a design first introduced during the early twentieth century. The obverse displays Adolph Weinman's celebrated depiction of Lady Liberty. She is captured mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. This side bears the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," along with the 1945 date. On the reverse, a powerful eagle stands perched upon a rugged mountain crag, wings slightly spread as if preparing to launch into the sky. The reverse inscriptions include the country of origin, the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the face value, "HALF DOLLAR."
