Struck at the Denver Mint during the final year of World War II, this 1945 half dollar represents a classic era of American silver coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, which equates to 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin is preserved in Fine to Very Fine condition. This wear level tells a story of active circulation, yet the iconic details of its celebrated mid-century design remain clearly visible. The obverse displays Adolph Weinman's renowned depiction of Lady Liberty. She is shown in mid-stride, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling a bundle of branches in her arm. The legendary phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST" is visible alongside the 1945 date. This powerful imagery of hope and progress is balanced on the reverse by a detailed eagle. Perched firmly on a rocky crag, the eagle is captured in a dynamic pose, wings partially spread as if preparing to take flight.
