In 1946, the principality of Liechtenstein released a gold 20 Franken coin that remains a captivating example of mid-century European numismatics. This issue, cataloged by collectors as Y#14, had a limited production of only 10,000 pieces. Struck with a gold purity of 0.900, each coin contains 0.1866 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse of the coin showcases a left-facing portrait of Prince Franz Joseph II. This detailed depiction captures the likeness of the long-reigning monarch. On the reverse, a beautifully detailed crowned shield is positioned amidst a delicate arrangement of stars, representing the sovereign identity of the alpine nation. This particular specimen has been certified in a high state of preservation, graded as Mint State 65 (MS-65).
