1946-D Roosevelt Dime BU
In 1946, the United States introduced a new ten-cent coin design to honor President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Struck at the Denver Mint, this particular issue marks the very first year of the long-running Roosevelt Dime series, representing a significant transition in mid-century American coinage. The obverse of the coin displays a left-facing portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding the profile are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1946 date. On the reverse, the design features three distinct symbols arranged side by side: an olive branch on the left, a lighted torch in the center, and an oak branch on the right. The legend reads E PLURIBUS UNUM and ONE DIME, indicating its face value. This coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 to 0.0723 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, it retains its original mint luster and crisp design details just as it appeared when it left the Denver facility over seven decades ago.
