1946 Roosevelt Dime BU

0.0715 troy oz .900 1946 Brilliant Unc

The year 1946 marked a significant transition for United States coinage with the introduction of a new ten-cent piece. This debut issue of the Roosevelt Dime series honors the legacy of Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose profile is captured in sharp detail on the obverse. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," alongside the initial year of the design, 1946. Crafted from 90% silver, each coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. The reverse side presents a carefully balanced trio of symbolic elements: an olive branch on the left representing peace, a central lit torch signifying liberty, and an oak branch on the right representing strength. Intertwined with these symbols is the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM," while the legends "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DIME" frame the entire composition.
