1946-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar BU

0.3575 troy oz .900 1946 Brilliant Unc

Struck in the mid twentieth century, this United States half dollar is a brilliant uncirculated example of one of America's most celebrated silver coin designs. Minted in 1946 at the San Francisco Mint, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse side, created by designer Adolph Weinman, depicts Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She carries a bundle of branches, symbolizing strength and growth, with the classic motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year 1946 clearly visible. On the reverse, a powerful eagle is shown perched on a rocky outcrop. The traditional inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is featured alongside the denomination, highlighting the detailed artistry that makes this era of United States coinage so fascinating to study.
