1947-D Roosevelt Dime BU
The 1947 Roosevelt dime from the Denver Mint represents an early year in one of America's most enduring coin series. Struck in 90 percent silver, this ten-cent piece contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, meaning it retains the original luster and sharp details from the day it was minted in Colorado. On the obverse side, the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt faces left. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1947 date and the Denver "D" mint mark. The reverse design presents a powerful trio of symbols arranged side-by-side. An olive branch, representing peace, sits on the left. In the center stands a lighted torch, symbolizing liberty and knowledge. On the right, an oak branch represents strength and independence. Woven among these symbols is the Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM, while the outer rim displays the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME.
