1947-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar Fine/VF
Struck in 90% silver at the Denver Mint, this 1947 half dollar represents the final year of one of America's most celebrated coin designs. The mid-century coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and displays the wear and character of a piece graded in Fine to Very Fine condition. The obverse features Adolph Weinman's famous depiction of Lady Liberty draped in the American flag, moving gracefully toward a rising sun while cradling branches of oak and laurel. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," alongside the 1947 date. On the reverse, a powerful eagle stands atop a mountain crag, wings partially spread as if preparing for flight. The reverse inscriptions wrap around the design, displaying "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the face value, "HALF DOLLAR."
