Struck by the Mexican Mint on behalf of the Banco de México, this impressive gold issue represents the largest bullion coin produced by the nation. It contains 1.2057 troy ounces of pure gold, minted with a fineness of 0.900. This specific piece is a restrike of the famous 1947 issue, preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition to highlight its powerful design elements. The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Mexico, depicting a golden eagle perched atop a cactus while gripping a serpent in its beak. Surrounding this central image is the inscription ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS, denoting the United States of Mexico. On the reverse, the design showcases the Winged Victory, a figure often referred to as the Angel of Independence. Flanking this majestic figure are the dual dates of 1821 and 1947, alongside the denomination of 50 PESOS and the gold content marking of 37,5 Gr. ORO PURO, which translates to 37.5 grams of pure gold.
