1947 Roosevelt Dime AU
This mid-century ten-cent piece, struck in 1947, represents an early year in one of America's most enduring coin designs. Minted in Philadelphia, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in About Uncirculated condition, it retains much of its original luster and detail from the era of its release. The obverse displays the left-facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the date 1947. This design was introduced shortly after his passing to honor his leadership through pivotal moments in global history. On the reverse, three distinct symbols are arranged side by side. An olive branch representing peace stands on the left, a lit torch symbolizing liberty and enlightenment rises in the center, and an oak branch representing strength is positioned on the right. Intertwined among these elements is the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, while the outer rim displays the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME.
