1947-S Roosevelt Dime AU
This 10-cent piece from 1947 represents an early year in the long-running Roosevelt Dime series. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, as indicated by the 'S' mint mark, this coin is composed of 90 percent silver, which equates to 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail from its initial production shortly after the end of World War II. The obverse of the coin displays a left-facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions 'LIBERTY' and 'IN GOD WE TRUST', along with the 1947 date. On the reverse, three central symbols stand side-by-side: an olive branch on the left, a lit torch in the center, and an oak branch on the right. These elements are accompanied by the traditional motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' and the denomination 'ONE DIME', all framed by the legend 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'.
