The 1947 Walking Liberty half dollar stands as a beautiful example of mid-century American silver coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this piece contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents the final year of its celebrated series, minted in Philadelphia with a total production of 4,094,000 pieces. On the obverse, the design features Lady Liberty moving gracefully toward a rising sun. She cradles a bundle of branches in her arm, symbolizing strength and growth. The words IN GOD WE TRUST appear in the field behind her. This side also bears the artist mark of its designer, Adolph Weinman. The reverse displays a powerful eagle perched upon a mountain crag, wings partially spread as if preparing to launch into the sky. Alongside the eagle, the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is clearly inscribed. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving the intricate details of both the walking figure and the majestic eagle.
