Issued from 1948 to 1963, the Franklin half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. This series, struck in 90% silver, contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Each of these specimens has been certified in Mint State 64 condition, showcasing the original design details as they emerged from the minting presses decades ago. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, designed by John R. Sinnock. Surrounding the portrait are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the specific year of issue. These coins were produced at one of three United States mint facilities: Philadelphia, Denver, or San Francisco. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, satisfying the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse also bears the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and HALF DOLLAR, completing a design that celebrates early American heritage.
