1948-S Roosevelt Dime BU

0.0715 troy oz .900 1948 Brilliant Unc

The 1948 Roosevelt dime represents a classic piece of mid-century American coinage, struck at the San Francisco Mint just a few years after the end of World War II. This particular ten-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal, and remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. On the obverse, the coin displays a left-facing portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his profile are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1948 date and the designer initials JS. The San Francisco origin is marked by the small S mint mark located on the reverse. The reverse design features a central torch symbolizing liberty, flanked by an olive branch on the left representing peace, and an oak branch on the right signifying strength and independence. The legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME frame the reverse, alongside the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
