1950-D Washington Quarter AU
This silver quarter from 1950 represents a fascinating moment in mid-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of its original detail and luster, offering a clear window into the craftsmanship of the era. The obverse of the coin presents the dignified left-facing profile of George Washington, a design created by sculptor John Flanagan. Accompanying the portrait is the classic national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1950 date of manufacture. On the reverse, Flanagan's design features a striking heraldic eagle. The powerful bird is depicted with its wings spread wide, clutching a bundle of arrows in its talons above a symbolic olive branch. The traditional Latin motto, "E PLURIBUS UNUM", is also integrated into the reverse design, completing a classic piece of United States numismatic history.
