Introduced during the mid twentieth century, this 1950 ten cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, which equates to 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. It remains in an Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its mid-century artistry. The obverse features a profile portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1950 year of issue. On the reverse, three distinct symbols of American ideals are grouped together. A central lit torch represents liberty, flanked by an olive branch symbolizing peace on the left and an oak branch representing strength on the right. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination ONE DIME frame the design, while the traditional Latin motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, is nestled among the branches.
