1951-D Roosevelt Dime BU

0.0715 troy oz .900 1951 Brilliant Unc

This 10 cent piece from 1951 represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, as indicated by its distinctive D mint mark, this dime is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of the precious metal. Because of this high silver content, many of these coins were actively saved and pulled from circulation by those who recognized their intrinsic value. The obverse of the coin displays the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, accompanied by the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, the design features a central torch flanked by an olive branch on the left and an oak branch on the right. This side also bears the phrases UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DIME. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin offers a clear look at the artistry and craftsmanship of mid-century American minting.
