In 1951, the Philadelphia mint produced a silver half dollar that departed from traditional allegorical figures, choosing instead to honor one of America's most famous founding citizens. The obverse features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, paired with the inscriptions of liberty and trust. This specific coin has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving the crisp details of its mid-century design. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. The reverse side showcases the historic Liberty Bell as its central focus. To the left of the bell, the traditional motto of national unity is inscribed alongside the face value, while a small eagle with open wings balances the composition on the right. Because it was struck in Philadelphia, this issue carries no mint mark.
