1951-S Roosevelt Dime BU
This ten-cent piece from 1951 represents a classic era of American mid-century circulating coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this Roosevelt dime is composed of 90 percent silver, which equates to approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin retains its original mint luster and sharp details just as it appeared when it left the coining press. The obverse features a profile portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt, facing left. Surrounding the former president's likeness are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1951 date. The small S mint mark on the reverse confirms its origin at the San Francisco facility. On the reverse, a symbolic trio of objects takes center stage. An olive branch, a lit torch, and an oak branch are arranged from left to right, representing peace, liberty, and strength. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination ONE DIME frame the central design, accompanied by the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
