0.3575 troy oz .900 1952 Almost Unc

In 1952, the Denver Mint produced a striking silver half dollar that captures a distinct era in American coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and represents a departure from traditional allegorical figures, opting instead to honor a historic American statesman. The obverse presents a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, designed by John R. Sinnock. Surrounding the portrait are the classic inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the mid-century date of 1952. Turning the coin over reveals a detailed depiction of the Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings stands out, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse also features the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the face value, HALF DOLLAR, identifying this piece as a classic example of United States currency.
