In 1952, the United States Mint continued its mid-century tradition of honoring one of America's most famous founding figures on the half dollar. This silver coin, struck with a purity of 90 percent, contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Rendered in an Almost Uncirculated state, it offers a beautifully preserved look at a classic era of American coinage. The obverse of the coin showcases a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin, designed by John R. Sinnock. Surrounding the profile of the legendary inventor and statesman are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1952 date of issue. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack.
