The 1952 Franklin Half Dollar stands as a classic representative of mid-twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, this coin does not display a mint mark, which was the standard practice for the main United States minting facility at the time. Composed of 90 percent silver, each piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, maintaining its original luster. On the obverse, a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin occupies the center of the design, created by John R. Sinnock. Surrounding the portrait are the essential inscriptions of "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the 1952 date. The simplicity of the portrait offers a dignified representation of one of America's most famous founding figures. The reverse of the coin features a detailed depiction of the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, a design element included to fulfill legal requirements for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions clearly display the issuing nation, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", the face value of "HALF DOLLAR", and the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
