0.3575 troy oz .900 1952 Almost Unc

The 1952 half dollar from the San Francisco Mint presents a distinct departure from traditional American coinage, showcasing one of the nation's most famous founding figures instead of an allegorical representation of liberty. Struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.3575 troy ounces, this piece is preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original detail from the mid-twentieth century. On the obverse, a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin occupies the center. The word LIBERTY arches over his likeness, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is positioned underneath. The year of production, 1952, is placed to the right of his shoulder. This portrait was created by designer John R. Sinnock, offering a clean and dignified representation of the statesman. The reverse side is dedicated to the Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the left of the bell, the phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM is inscribed, while a small eagle with open wings stands on the right side. The name of the issuing country and the face value of HALF DOLLAR are clearly displayed, completing a design that celebrates key symbols of American heritage.
