0.3575 troy oz .900 1952 MS-64 (PCGS)

The 1952-S Franklin Half Dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin is composed of 90% silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It has been graded in Mint State 64 with the highly sought-after Full Bell Lines designation, indicating an exceptionally sharp strike on the reverse details. On the obverse, a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin takes center stage. This design by John R. Sinnock is accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the 1952 date. This depiction was a departure from the traditional allegorical figures of Liberty, honoring instead one of America's most famous founding fathers. The reverse of the coin features the iconic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, a design element required by law. The reverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination. The "S" mint mark, indicating its origin in San Francisco, is positioned just above the yoke of the bell.
