1952-S Franklin Half Dollar MS-65 PCGS

0.3575 troy oz .900 1952 MS-65 (PCGS)

Struck in 1952 at the San Francisco Mint, this mid-century silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This specific piece has been certified in Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, preserving its original details and luster for observers to appreciate decades after it left the minting press. The obverse features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the most famous founding figures of the United States. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the 1952 year of issue. The design was created by John R. Sinnock, offering a clean and dignified representation of Franklin. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions include the country of issue, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination HALF DOLLAR. A small 'S' mint mark is also present, indicating its origin from the San Francisco facility.
