Struck in San Francisco during the mid-twentieth century, this 1952 half dollar is a remarkable example of American silver coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver and has been certified in Mint State 66 (MS-66), indicating an exceptional level of preservation that highlights the original artistry of the design. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the most famous founding figures of the United States. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions of freedom and faith, including the word LIBERTY and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1952 date. This portrait was created by designer John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the historic Liberty Bell is depicted in rich detail, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle is visible, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions present the country of origin, the face value of HALF DOLLAR, and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. A small 'S' mint mark above the bell denotes its origin from the San Francisco minting facility.
