1952 Washington Quarter PF-66 NGC

0.1808 troy oz .900 1952 Proof - 66 (NGC)

In 1952, the Philadelphia Mint produced a limited run of proof Washington quarters, striking a total of only 81,980 pieces. Unlike the standard circulating coinage of the era, these proof specimens were crafted with polished dies and planchets to achieve a superior finish, highlighting the fine details of the classic design. This particular coin has survived in exceptional condition, graded as Proof 66 (PF-66). Struck in 90 percent silver, this quarter contains approximately 0.1808 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, accompanied by the inscriptions of liberty and the national motto. The reverse displays a majestic eagle with outspread wings, surrounded by the traditional inscriptions of the United States of America, the denomination of one quarter dollar, and the Latin phrase signifying unity.
