Struck in 90% fine silver, this 1953 half dollar from the mid-twentieth century represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal and has been officially graded in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving its original luster and sharp details for modern observers to appreciate. The obverse of the coin presents a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1953 year of issue. This design was originally created by sculptor John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central imagery features the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. A small eagle sits to the right of the bell, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions display the country of origin, the half dollar face value, and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
