Struck in Denver, Colorado, this 1953 silver half dollar represents a classic mid-century American coin design. The piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of pure silver, composed of 90 percent silver alloy. It has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, showcasing the original luster and detail from the Denver Mint, which is indicated by the small D mint mark. The obverse of the coin displays a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions for liberty and the national motto, along with the 1953 date. This design was created by John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle is depicted, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions include the country of issue, the half dollar face value, and the traditional Latin motto meaning out of many, one.
