The 1953 Franklin half dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Minted in San Francisco, this fifty cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. Kept in brilliant uncirculated condition, it preserves the sharp details of its mid twentieth century design. On the obverse, a right facing profile of Benjamin Franklin takes center stage. This portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1953 date. The design was originally created by John R. Sinnock, offering a dignified representation of one of America's most famous founding figures. The reverse side presents a detailed depiction of the Liberty Bell, complete with its traditional wooden yoke. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible. The reverse is inscribed with the United States of America as the issuing nation, the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". The "S" mint mark is also present, indicating its origin at the San Francisco minting facility.
