1954 Franklin Half Dollar PR-66 PCGS

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the mid-century era, this 1954 half dollar represents a beautiful example of United States proof coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.3575 troy ounces, the coin is certified in proof condition with a grade of PR-66. This particular issue carries no mint mark, which is characteristic of Philadelphia strikes from this period. The obverse features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions of freedom and faith, including the word "LIBERTY" and the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1954 date. This design was originally created by John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, a detail added to fulfill legal requirements for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions clearly display the face value of "HALF DOLLAR" and the traditional Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum".
