This ten-cent piece from 1954 represents a classic era of United States coinage, minted in 90 percent silver with a precious metal content of approximately 0.0715 troy ounces (or 0.0723 ounces total weight). Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the mid-century period, this particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving its original luster and sharp details just as it looked when it first emerged from the minting press. The obverse of the coin showcases a left-facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the bold, inspiring inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1954 year of issue. Just below the truncation of the neck, the designer's initials JS are visible, completing a dignified tribute to the leader. On the reverse, the coin displays a trio of powerful symbols arranged from left to right: an olive branch representing peace, a central lighted torch symbolizing liberty, and an oak branch signifying strength. Woven around these elements is the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, while the outer rim bears the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the face value of ONE DIME.
